New Song Released From Nature of Waves' Demo

Nature of Waves is a Minneapolis line-up of seasoned musicians with diverse backgrounds.  The group features a highly musical Progressive/Funk approach with the help of drummer Blayr Alexander, and bassist Daniel Zamzow (Cloudcult, Deep soul Deities).  Embracing the art of soloing, guitarist Mike Green (More than Lights, Johnny Holm Band, The Angle Obscure) brings intelligent melody to their style.  Holding it all together Aaron Wessel (lead singer and rhythm guitar), focuses on his singer/Songwriter abilities and the passion of Mo-town to create a whole sound and bring to life to what is now called the "Nature of Waves."

Today we are happy to announce the debut of "Get The F Out!", a track engineered by Sassan Zaker of Sine Circle that will appear on Nature of Waves' first demo release.  Along with the song (available for FREE download on  there is an in-studio performance video on YouTube, featuring our drummer Blayr Alexander and the band.  Share, comment, and download the track/video.. Enjoy!

Keeping the integrity of our music is priority number one-live and in the studio.  The super-group has made a name for itself locally for our high-energy, funky, and technical performances.  We want to continue this as our career grows into the national music scene.  We have high quality recordings and products that are being developed as we speak.

A very exciting time for the NoW Crew as we get closer and closer to our demo release in early 2013.  With the Europe tour + other big plans this year, the band is going to remain working hard to keep everyone updated on our adventures.

Also we want to thank our recording engineer.  It was an amazing experience working with Scotty (Sassan Zaker) on these tracks.  I highly recommend him as an engineer/producer for any band or solo act.  Expect more videos and promos to follow!

NoW in South Dakota w/ special guests!

Reuben and Mike Green @ More than Lights show, Whitefish MT
We have a surprise treat for friends in South Dakota!  Next month we have night of heavy jamming, slammin' originals, and funked out cover-songs.  The event was brought to us by our good friend Jason Peterson of Vermillion, SD.  Joining us for this special event will be our loyal and always smiley bassist sub Reuben Rodriguez (Mark Joseph, More than Lights, Divine Collection).  On the skins we have the mad skills of drummer Versie Donaby.  Combined with Mike Green & Aaron Wessel, these four forces have enough funk and technical ability to make the place erupt.

Venue: Rounding 3rd Bar & Casino

Holland Tour 2013!

That's right!  Later this year Nature of Waves is making our debut tour in Europe.  Big thanks to everyone involved already in accommodating our visit.  Booking is in the works and will be updated on our websites as it develops.  Included stops on the tour will include Amsterdam, Scotland, and many more!

For our first adventure to Europe, Aaron and I (Mike Green) will be representing the crew to develop relationships with owners and agents.  Going as a duo we have many opportunities to play in cafes, shops, and other smaller venues.

This trip is projected to be late 2013 and details will be coming soon.

Recording w/ Scotty Zaker II

Hey Waves!

Giving an update on DEMO II progress for Nature of Waves.  It's been going great, we have been flying through these tracks to get them packaged and ready to go for our live shows and online support.

In this session we recorded drums for all four tracks (Blayr nailed everything in an hour or so!) Scotty's setup worked out perfect for our band, and his services are HIGHLY recommended.  His email is if you want to get ahold of him to schedule.

In the next few weeks I will be rendering down HQ video we have of Blayr's session and also a new promo will be surfacing soon.  Stay tuned!

With three tracks pending from McNally Smith, we decided to move forward to start working on new tracks!  We decided to go with our good friend Scotty Zaker (Sine Circle, Mark Joseph Project, Roster McCabe, Jon Wayne & The Pain, PB & The Jam, Mikel Wright and the Wrongs etc etc) to do our tracking for these four songs.

Track listing includes: Da Get Down, The Ride, Risky, Get The F Out!

Expect releases in the next few months!  Also we will be pushing our show on Jan. 10th at Mill City Nights, next to the Fineline Music Cafe in Minneapolis MN!

Recording @ McNally Smith College of Music

Hey everybody! It's been a minute since we've last had a NoW update so here is the run down..
We have started the recording process of "NoW Demo I."
Our first engineer is Karin Kuster, student at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN. She specializes in very progressive/rock and even metal. Also, on top of being a great student she is connected to one of my favorite producers ever: Jaime King (Between the Buried and Me, Colors & Great Misdirect). We will also be recording with other engineers in the next few months, so expect several releases in early 2013.
Also Aaron and I will be performing in Minneapolis at The Fineline, December 21st @ 9pm. Afterward we will be hanging out and handing out flyers and CDs.
